Albaladia
In class we were given random city in the world to build a park around, I was given Fez, Morocco. I found that Morocco had a problem with children living on the street and refugees with no where to go. So I developed a center where they could find safety, productivity and play.
The design is aimed at being kid friendly and welcoming to the children of Fez.
Albaladia means “commune” in Arabic.

The Albaladia complex was mapped out for various activities and situations.

The symbols for each area were found in the elaborate tile work that is done throughout the country of Morocco. This lets intricate symbols spring forth that still has a connection to the art and culture of the area.
