All Roads to Pearla

In the fall of 2020 I interned with a movie production company called GoPop Films to help promote their new film called All Roads to Pearla. This would involve designing for social media, merchandise and even helping out to plan future releases.

Original Posters

This was the poster art in use when I joined the project.

Social Media Designs

Motion

Motion graphics were created to advertise the film on social media.

Character Posters

Posters to introduce individual characters on social media.

For this assignment I had an opportunity to read the script and find quotes that would go with an individual character’s drive and personality.

Release Day

To hype the release of All Roads to Pearla on the 25th I created these perspective character posters that face off with the streaming services Pearla would be available on.

Halloween

To promote the release over the week of Halloween the characters were transformed into monsters such as Freddy, Michael Myers, Jason, Samara, a Vampire and Brandon was Ash.

Another Halloween promotion involved giving Oz, the villain of the movie his own haunted house of horrors.

These were inspired by ads for haunted houses and horror poster designs.

More Motion

More use of motion in the social media ads to sell the intensity of the film.

Alternate Posters

One of the design exercises involved with the promotion of the movie was to make alternate poster designs for the film.

Poster Mimicry

Another exercise for promotion was creating All Roads to Pearla posters that mimicked movies in similar genres.

Pearla VHS

I was tasked with designing a series of fake VHS covers to help sell the film. For this project I imagined what it would be like if Pearla was sold as a slightly different genre or if it was made in a different time period all together.
