Halloween Ends

This isn't a movie that's interested in the End of Michael Myers. Or the conclusion of Michael Myers versus Laurie Strode. It's interested in the end of the franchise. The jack o'lantern's dying and being reborn represents the series web of sequels, timelines and reboots never allowing The Shape to truly remain dead and stuck in an endless cycle of Halloween. 

This trilogy even mirrors the 1988-1995 cycle of Halloween. As Michael has a violent escape from being transported to bring terror to Haddonfield again and there's a Loomis to stop him, only in that our Loomis seeks to help the Shape but Michael is not interested in that sequel path. Halloween Kills is a similar weird grindhouse horror of a middle film, not very interested in Story and it has a hobo watching over Michael as in Ends. Ends and Curse both give opportunities for new Shapes to rise while also attempting to end the series. Corey has a scar on him similar to the Rune of Thorn. A radio station is a plot point similar to Curse. The Loomis idea has been split into several characters who could offer advice or obsession in new Halloween. 

The typefaces for each movie in the Gordon Green cycle mirror that of the original three movies. Letting this cycle of Halloween be a new beginning similar to the original run. Which would make it appropriate for the next Halloween movie to be a stand alone idea similar to the killer druid masks of 3. 

Corey Cunningham is the continuation, the next generation and the representation of the endless cycles of Halloween. So does the child he babysits, as he hears the Shape like a child in the Curse of Michael Myers. But in this version Allyson Nelson (our new Laurie) has a dark romance with The Shape. Corey is a Michael who had a hope for redemption. His was a turn to Evil that happened by happenstance rather than murder, but that terrible accident would leave him to seek the power of Michael Myers. The accident even creates a new Myer's House, a dark totem to travel through a new endless sequel cycle of Continuity. The teens that bully Corey are the archetypes of the usual slasher heroes in past Halloween, but this time they are antagonists that condemn Corey to find The Shape. 

Michael lost his Shape after Halloween Kills. Whatever supernatural force controls his actions seeped into the town itself. With the people of the town killing & terrorizing in his place, there was no place for Michael. With no sister connection, druid cult, fated confrontation or other such motivations our slasher had no reason to slash and horror is gone. Which is why for the most part this film takes the form of a romance for a portion of it's time...until Corey finds Michael. 

Then whatever Evil in Corey matches with Michael. Corey and the Shape are one. Which is why when Corey died the legend of Michael Myers began to die once again, letting Laurie finally deliver her death blows and the town to destroy the idea of Michael Myers. Laurie is allowed to be happy and Allyson can escape the fate of constant trauma and death that would follow a Laurie Strode in other sequels, timelines and reboots.
